Happy birthday/Mother's Day to my favorite mom. :)

This year my mom requested a rosette cake for her birthday. I have never made one before so I was excited to try. After baking a yummy, fluffy french vanilla cake and filling/covering it with cream cheese buttercream frosting, I piped on rows of pretty purple rosettes. I decided to go with a purple ombre because purple is my moms favorite color and I love the ombre look. (who doesn't?!?) I think the white pearls on top add an elegant touch. Such a fun cake to make!

Congratulations John!!

It's been a while since I've put anything up on my blog. I thought this would be a fun one to post! A friend (and co-worker) of mine was nice enough to ask me to decorate a graduation cake for her husband, John. He graduated from SUU with a bachelors degree in exercise physiology. I wanted to keep it his school colors (red, white, and black). I loved making the cute little hat and diploma. So much fun! Congrats John! Have some cake. :)

Yummy ice cream cakes at The Fix...

The Fix (ice cream and treat shop) is reopened! They are now under new ownership and have added a few new yummy treats. The previous owners were nice enough to recommend me to the new owners for cake decorating. They recently contacted me and I have started decorating ice cream cakes for them. (So much fun to be doing this more regularly again...seems like I have had a break from all of the events and birthdays I had been decorating for a few months back.)

Fun Football Cupcakes...

My sweet cousin Gage asked me to make some cupcakes for his birthday party at school. (I love that he thought to ask me!!) He wanted footballs-BIG footballs. I molded them all out of chocolate and stuck them halfway into the cupcakes before piping grass all around them.

Happy Birthday Aunt Julie! My aunt Julie has always liked/collected fairies, so I thought this colorful Tinkerbell cake would be perfect! I dyed the inside purple. (her favorite color) Such a fun cake to make! 

Happy birthday Grandpa!

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I'm really excited to post this. My mom planned an awesome book themed birthday party for my grandpa this year. I got assigned to "cater" the dessert. I found so many great ideas online that I drew inspiration from for his cake/cupcakes. My mom gave me a list of his favorite books to include on the cake. It took hours the day before the party to finish everything but I was so happy with how everything turned out. Definitely worth the work to see his reaction to the surprise.
