This has to be one of my favorite cakes ever! One of the best birthday cakes I think I've ever made and it was SO MUCH FUN!
I love cakes that really allow me to play with different frosting tips. I like cakes decorated with frosting so much better than fondant. They are just stress free, creative, fun!

Iced cookies
I've just started to dabble in cookie art because I was asked to decorate some cookies for a wedding. I had honestly never really done cookies so it took a little bit of studying. I really enjoyed it and would like to get better at it. So many amazing things you can do with cookies, who knew??
Here is a variety that I made for the wedding.

First wedding cake tasting
Guys, I did my very first wedding cake tasting! When the client asked, I wasn't even quite sure how to do it! She gave me a few flavor suggestions and then just asked to be surprised. I decided to present her with 6 different flavor combos. I wanted the frosting flavors
to be different too so that she could decide to mix and match the different frosting and cake flavors.
I thought they turned out really pretty and SO tasty.

Minnie Mouse Birthday
I got to do a super fun cake and cupcakes for a Minnie Mouse birthday party a while back! I made everything the night before since it had to be delivered in the morning. Everything had turned out so cute and I was so excited to give it to the cute little birthday girl. That morning, I woke up to find that all of my Minnie Mouse cupcake ears had melted!! EEK! I had to hurry and make them again, this time with no fondant and all gumpaste so that they would dry quickly. Luckily, I had gotten up rather early that morning. They finished drying and I got the ears on just in time. The cake and cupcakes were a hit!

Rose cake in a hurry!
So, this has NEVER happened! I wrote down the delivery date wrong!! Luckily, the lady who ordered it from me sent me a text in the morning to confirm the time of delivery. I just happened to be visiting family about an hour away from home and the cake had to be delivered within a few hours! (needless to say I had to skip a few corners.) I rushed to the store to gather supplies (rebuying things that I had already bought because I wasn't at home to use them!), threw the cake together, and drove an hour to deliver it RIGHT on time. Phew. Stressful. I hope she was happy with it!
Please excuse the weird pictures...I really didn't have time to do a photo shoot. :)

TMNT!
Kowabunga dude! I grew up with the Ninja Turtles so I was pretty excited when I got asked to decorate a TMNT cake for a birthday party. I had a lot of fun molding their little heads out of fondant and especially enjoyed practicing the frosting technique on the side of the cake.
Lady Bug Smash Cake!
This was my first ever "smash cake". I couldn't help but get extra excited about this one as I thought of a cute, chubby little baby digging her hands into it and probably trying cake for the first time. How fun is it that my cake will be in her home videos or in her first photo album? The theme was lady bug and I LOVE how it turned out. Such a fun cake to make.
P.S. this is the first cake I did post pregnancy! Feels good to be back.
